Kappil Lake
Kappil is located 6km north of Varkala. A boat club near the lake is the main attraction. Backwater tours are common in the area. The lesser-known beaches at Edava and Vettekkada are good spots for relaxing. If you go by a bus or train you can see the estuary in between Edava and Kappil.Sometimes the Air Force conducts adventure sports events such as parasailing, canoeing, water skiing, boat riding and aqua parasailing.
